Shanati is Funded!

Shanati is proud to announce that it has been funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities with a Digital Humanities Advancement Grant for two years, with Alexander Jones, Director of New York University’s Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, as its Principal Investigator and David Danzig, doctoral candidate at ISAW and the project’s creator, as its Lead Researcher.

Our Goals

  • Reconstruct the daily Ancient Babylonian Calendar
  • Synchronize it with other ancient calendars
  • Provide easy access to date conversions
  • Provide the full evidence trail for our reconstruction
  • Provide our data as a service to other web platforms
